Gairloch to Sky

Todays Journey was to make our way to the Isle of Sky and free camp.  We all agreads this was the most scenic part of the Coast 5OO  and we are glad we did the trip from anticlock wise, most people do it clock wise round, but we felt we should do the east side out of the way so we had something to look forward to coming down the west side and we all made the right decision.  We stopped off at a little place called Torridon at a small Village Hall were they has a Craft Fair and Food Goodies to buy.

Stopping to have our Dinner while taking in the lovely views of Shiedaig.  Shiedig  is a very pretty Village looking over upper Loch Torridon,  we natrually had to pay a vist to the Smoke House for some smoked Salmon it was smoked to perfection so much we brought some home with us for Christmas.  There is a small well kept Campsite on the hill looking down into Shiedaig Village.

Isle of Sky (Loch Slappin)

From  Shiedaig we started to make our way over to Sky leaving the North Coast 500 route and taking in the vastness of Loch Carron, the sun was out and it was picture perfect it would have been nice to stop and have a look round but we must carry on to Sky.   We  reached  around  Kyle of Lochalsh around 4.30 and called in at Coop supermarket at  for supplies and made our way over the Sky Bridge, we had no idea where to camp up so made our way up sky and eventually ended up at Loch Slappin and what a breath taking View the loch and surrounding where, what better place to have tea and a sleep over.
